Instant messaging is referred to as a new type of communicate mode,with the issuance of 3G licenses,IM on Mobile,including MMS,CRBT(Coloring Ring Back Tone),pictures,blog,mobile TV and so on will be fully exploited. The future evolution of mobile networks is bound to the direction to All-IP, whether it is business itself,or the way of carrying voice,data and multimedia will be to All-IP.And the core network IP Multimedia Subsystem(IMS) will be served as a platform to provide multimedia communication,IMS is considered as the core technology of the next generation network,also is a solution for integration of mobile and fixed network,and the important way to solve the integration of voice,data and video.For the Session Initiation Protocol(SIP) has nothing to do with the access of the IMS,the advantages in the integration of network is getting more and more concerned.In this dissertation,researched the design and implement instant messaging system of multimedia services platform based on IMS.First of all, this dissertation analyzed the current development of instant messaging and analyzed the architecture and Composition of IMS,SIP and other protocols. Then,this dissertation analyzed and introduced instant messaging system overall design,introduced the presence server,instant messaging server,group management server and instant messaging client in detail.At last,this dissertation analyzed the process and server of presence server and instant messaging server,introduced the implementation of client and how to send message,and prospected of the future development of instant messaging and summed up the deficiencies need to improve.
