GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) is a new bear service,which is developed from GSM(Global System for Mobile communication) network.GPRS networks support TCP/IP protocol and provide packet-switched services based on internet protocol and could directly communicate with Internet.GPRS wireless network has the advantages that its coverage is wide,thespeed of data transmission is high,the network is stable and reliable and cost is low,and besides,GPRS wireless network also has seamless connection with Internet.So it can provide well wireless data transmission channel for data acquisition and remote monitoring system.Important and special pressure equipments such as boilers and pressure vessels, have been widely used in electric power,oil chemicals,hospital and other industries, they are playing an irreplaceable role in development of the national economy.The subject of our research is to make utilitze the advanced network and communication technology,real-time collect,process and control the parameters such as temperature, pressure and liquid level,detect abnormity in time,prevent security incidents,to ensure its safe operation.The important and special pressure equipment remote monitoring system based on GPRS and geographic information system(GIS),is designed to monitor the safety of modern boilers and pressure vessels,the system took advantage of some advanced technologies such as GPRS,GIS(Geographic Information System),on-line monitoring,network communications,database technology and so on.The remote monitoring system of the important and special equipments is composed of on-site monitoring terminal,GPRS wireless communications systems and monitoring center management information system.Monitoring terminal is installed in special equipment to monitor it real time,GPRS communication system transfer the collected data to monitoring center in time.Regulators can get the real-time status through the GIS.The system can alarm automatically when abnormal data is collected,so that to reduce the probability of major accidents and reduce losses.The article described how to design and realize the hardware and software of the whole system in detail,including the design of collecting terminal,monitoring center and control terminal.Collecting terminal includes single-chip collecting module, GPRS communications module;Data processing module in monitoring Center server. Monitoring terminal including dynamical generation of instrumentation,using the activeX control of MapX map to achieve the geographic information management module.Testing and trial proved that the technical performance had achieved the aim. small amount and discrete long-distance data transmission are accomplished successfully,achieve the purpose of monitor important and special pressure equipment remotely.The monitoring terminal is small in size,low price and high reliability,offers transparent and high efficiency data transmission channel,and could be widely used in industry control fields,especially in motion circumstance and remote area.Moreover the terminal has richly interface circuit and could be developed farther.
