| Recent developments in microstrip antenna technology are surveyed. Emphasis is on those in techniques for compact, multi-band, circularly polarized operations with method of single layer and single feed. A novel technique for realizing dual-band circularly-polarization on circular microstrip patch antenna is proposed. By embedding arc-shaped slots closing to the boundary and introducing one short narrow slot respectively to both center of the circular path and one of the arc-shaped slots, the microstrip antenna can obtain dual-band circular polarized radiation with single co-axial feed. The size of this antenna is reduced and its fabrication is easy. Details of the proposed antenna design and experimental results are presented. The measured results show validity of the design. |
