With the characteristics of convenient storage, long preservation, easy transfer and enormous information, digital image occupies an important position in scientific research, engineering application and modern life. Simultaneously, with the technological development and increasing standards, new and higher demands have been put forward for digital image processing technology.On one hand, the increasing image data requires timely and effective processing. On the other hand, new image processing methods and technologies are needed to share and process enormous data stored in remote computers. Due to the complexity of image processing procedures, distributed processing system is urgently needed to solve the problem. This thesis is to study web-based distributing image processing technology. By discussing the related computing theories, web computing technology, Java advanced image processing technology, it proposed a system to process three types of web-based images. On the basis of research, a medium-mode webimaging system by adapting JAI advanced image processing technology is created and client data mode, image processing function, data communication & transfer are further discussed in this thesis. Finally, MPICH micro-computer group computing technology is used to optimize the more complicated image processing computing in servers to acquire experimental data.According to the system operation, web-based distributed processing system is capable of processing remote data real-time and it is easy to be further developed. By optimizing the complicated computing, computing speed can be enhanced to make full use of web computing resources.
