In video information of multimedia technology is the most times characteristics and the most vigorous area of research and application."Seeing is believing" profoundly reveals the importance of visual information, video communication can realize people at any time, any place, or in any way with the most intuitionistic communication, With communication, computer, radio and TV technology development, especially the microelectronics technology progress, for real-time video information processing and communication provides the possibility.And as the network communication technology and the multimedia technology rapid development, make video, images, computer vision, multimedia database and computer network technology integration increasingly. Especially in the industry, medicine, commercial and military fields, real-time video processing technology has a core position. Due to the real-time video processing requirement of real-time data processing and with large amount of data, usually also contains such as segmentation, detection, mark, identify complicated algorithm, etc. This requires large capacity, high real-time processing chip.However, Altera launched a programmable chip system (System on a Programmable Chip, SOPC) and the NiosII soft processor, further satisfy the high reliability, high real-time processing industry needs, especially their matching programmable logic technology and modular design thought of design is a global trend.In this paper, firstly introduces the real-time video at home and abroad based on the development status and the processing technolog?? real-time video on the international newest design thought of processing technology, combined with the design, this paper proposes the expected performance index system design parameters, according to the performance index of the main frame system design.Developed the system of the hardware development platform and the software development environment of the FPGA technology of the Altera Company. The design of the real-time video processor is according to the standards of the real-time video processing signal indicator and the requirements of the system performance, and puts forward a kind of real-time video processor system based on FPGA, to replace the traditional framework "DSP +ASIC ".Secondly, describes the design of hardware and software of the system in details, outstanding the advantages of the SOPC technology, realizing system software and hardware platform on the single FPGA chip, system design using the modularized development process, realizing system and each peripheral connection interface module design, design from the original analog video signal input, decoding and space transformation, and then through the chroma of video processing, the real-time video processing signal will display output by the VGA interface. At the same time, system embedded the NiosII soft processor, through the processor reads the pictures and audio information provided by SD card, audio, video system, broadcasting and real-time processing image function will display.Finally, record the process of hardware and software adjustable and performance testings. Analysis and optimize the results of the experiment, and put forward a prospects of the video system according to the test results.The design of the system brings fully functional IP cores which provided by the the SOPC Builder and the NiosII soft processor. Therefore, simplified the circuit design of the system's hardware, make the product development focus on the system function and algorithm design and improve the design efficiency. Using the FPGA characteristics of programming, bring the flexibility of circuit design, and the reconstruction of the algorithm, aslo makes the system has good ??ability, reveal the scalability of the system. Experimental results show that the system operating stability, testing results also shows that each indexs of the system meet the basic requirements. And this system development of low cost and low power consumption, has a strong competitiveness market.
