| Appendicitis is common and high frequently disease in surgical subject. Appendectomy is the most often, which also has a simple procedure relatively in general surgery. It is essential in appendicitis surgery training that appendectomy may cause serious medical consequences when careless and improper operation happened in surgical procedure.Computer application has penetrated into all fields of social life with the rapid development of computer technology. Virtual surgery system is an interdisciplinary subject which combines with computer technology, computer graphics, sensor technology, bio-mechanics, modern medicine, image processing, robotics and visualization in scientific computing. The purpose of virtual surgery system researching is to provide surgeon of training and simulation tools which can be used frequently in surgical planning, surgical training and the further actual surgery.The characteristic, development status and application of virtual surgery technologies were analyzed in this dissertation. Modeling and cutting simulation which are two key technologies of virtual surgery were researched deeply in this dissertation. Based on abdominal CT images, the three-dimensional geometric model of the appendix was reconstructed by using ray casting method. The physical model of the appendix was established by using finite element method. The features in collision detection of appendectomy surgery were analyzed by using hierarchical bounding box method. The virtual cutting of appendix was simulated by using discard method.Surgical instruments were modeled by 3Ds Max modeling software in this dissertation. The surgical instruments and the physical model of appendix were imported into EON Studio which is a platform of virtual reality. Based on the above job, the virtual surgery prototype system for appendectomy was developed by EON Studio. |
