| In order to achieve a fire-new network technology: to transmit IP packet directly over twisted-pair, the author studies the development status of traditional LAN Switching Technology and IP Switching Technology on the basis of TCP/IP Protocol and other network protocols, compares the two switching technologies and designs a sort of high speed IPSwitch based on transmitting IP packet over twisted-pair.The system is implemented software designing and developing on the QUARTUS TI 5.0 software development platform by using the hardware description language VHDL. Through the overall software design, to analyze the work theory of switch and adopt the bottom-up design method, the whole system is divided into four function modules: Data Receiving Control Module, Data Transmission Control Module, Routing Control Module and Switching Control Module. Circuit designing, code programming and simulation testing are carried out in sub-modules. Finally, all the modules are integrated as a top overall document and downloaded into FPGA component to simulate the whole system's function. The innovation of this design is to establish a static IP Addresses-Ports Comparative Table in switch. And IP packet carries through routing and data transmitting according to this comparative table.Ultimately, the system achieves data transmitting function by software and hardware debugging and detects the system performance of IP switch according to oscillograph. The result indicates that the system runs stably and reliably.The implement of design proves the actual feasibility of transmitting IP packet directly over twisted-pair. Although it is the first fire-new attempt, the research consummates the existing TCP/IP Protocol Architecture, and improves the transmission rate of net data and the efficiency of data. It possesses higher research value and can be a reference to further study. |
