Radio Frenquency Identification(RFID), with very broad prospects of application, has been used in the fields of the logistics industry, the post sector, rail vehicle management, the tobacco industry and other fields. However, there are still factors constraining RFID tags widely use, among which the most important factors are tags packaging equipment and tags production technics. The main content of this paper is to design and implement the tension control system on RFID flexible web transporting, including:(1) By analyzing the tension of the flexible web around the unwind and wind rolls, the tension characteriatic is given. Analysis and comparison of the potential tension control methods are introduced. This paper also discusses tension detection and tension control algorithms.(2) Compared with traditional tension control, RFID packaging equipment has some special control demands. Synchronous control based on PMAC plays an important role in transporting system of flexible web. Because of the inextricalbe contact between flexible web transporting and tension control, this paper gives detail on synchronous control from solutions to experimental results, and then, improved solustion is given.(3) This paper puts forward several tension control solutions, including the independent distributed control solution based on tension controller, control solution based on PMAC, and position/tension double loops feedback control solution based on PMAC. And appropriate control solution is derived through comparison.(4) The paper gives simulation analysis on tension control with MATLAB, and also the experimental analysis and data analysis.(5) The paper summarizes the tension control system of RFID flexible web transporting, and puts forward the existing problems and the next research direction.
