Study On The Fusion Of DAB And CMMB

Along with the development of communication and information technoligies, mobile multimedia broadcasting service is becoming a key application in broadcasting and television industry. Among the various standards announced,CMMB and DAB have established test network.CMMB intergrated several independent innovatons,it covers the rural area by satellite while the territory network is supported by SFN. DAB is originated from Eureca Project, and parts of its bandwith is used for digital video broadcasting.A key technique of the two standards is OFDM,which has the following three charcaters, firstly is high spectrum efficiency, secondly is anti-multipath interference and the last is high speed moblity. These advantages ensure OFDM to bear audio and video transmission. But the two strandards are different from each other in frame structure,channel coding,modulation etc. Besides,although both the two standars have establised network,but they have different market share,development prospects ,status.This paper firstly gives an overview of mobile tv,including its market demand, technical features.The second chapter introduces the DAB technical system,from the whole architecture to source coding, chanel coding ,modulation and complexing etc. The third chaper introduces the CMMB in accordance with the same structure as the previous chaper. After the introducation of the technical features, the article analyze the industrial chain,network coverage,termainal demand .The paper finally elaborate the possiblity of the fusion of the two standards.Both CMMB and DAB have positive promotion for the television broadcasting industry,and they will bring leap forg development for the industry. Mobile TV also will stimulate demostic demand,promote the development of information economy.
