The effects of Web Education largely depend on the technology used in it. Using web education systems, which can offer both synchronous and asynchronous education and guidance, is one of the main manners that Web Education uses to serve study. However, the situation now is that there are various web education systems that implemented with different technologies and have distinct functions in our country. Thus, developing a web education system that can easily be integrated with existing web education systems and educational administration systems is an effective way to promote the development of Web Education.The Web Based Learning System for Adults studied in this thesis is an on-line education system for adult students in Web Education. It has an interface, with which it can be integrated with existing web education systems and educational administration systems conveniently. The system can offer various useful functions, including practice, self-test, simulate examinations, courseware ordering, forum of study, individual study documents, and etc. .With this system, flexible communication between teachers and students becomes possible, and the requirements of teaching and management can be better satisfied. This system will do good to both the improvement of students' efficiency and the release of teachers' work. It can work well with home-made CPU, NC, Linux, Windows and middleware. So, it is a useful, convenient, reliable and inexpensive web education system, which can be used in high school, college and training center.This thesis analyzes the demand of general web education institutions and takes the cyber education institution of BUPT as an example to represent. It expounds the research of three key modules of the system from following parts: demand analysis, preliminary design, detailing, implementation, testing, deployment and application. The key modules include practice module, simulate examination module, and the integration interface. The practice module offers an interactive self-study manner. The simulation examination module is designed to help web education students get a good preparation for their universal examination. The integration interface is used to connect this system with existing web education systems and educational administration systems.
