With the rapid development of Internet and broadband network, multimedia streaming over the Internet is booming. Multimedia Streaming can express much more intuitionistic and abundant information content than traditional text format. The traditional client-server architecture is not scaleable and it can cause the bottleneck of the system. P2P network can use the clients all over the network to share their resources. So we use P2P technoledge into multimedia system in order to design a scaleabe system. By this way, the system can become more scable, more robust and more practical.Firstly, this paper presents the basic knowledge of P2P and multimedia streaming. After introducing the NAT knowledge, we give several NAT traversing method. And by researching into traditional client-server service architechture and P2P service architechture, we propose the system architechture. In the system, there are super node server, tracker server, channel server and client. We give specific designment of these four modules from aspects of function, module architechture and interaction between modules. And we introduce the designment of the video publishing procedure and video watching procedure.Secondly, it presents the designment and implementation of NAT traversing. Since peers after NAT can not communicate with each other directly, we propose a method to solve this by using UDP protocol to traverse NAT.Finally, we give the designment of ovelay network, data exchange scheme and disk cache which are very important in the system.
