The polymer light emitting device(PLED) as one of the major Flat Panel Displays is hopefully to become a new generation product to substitute the liquid-crystal display. In this dissertation, main study is on optimizing device structure, performance and luminescence mechanism etc.of PLEDs.Some interesting results have been obtained and showned as follow:1.Select PVK as doner and Ir(piq)2(acac) as acceptor, we investigated the effect of different doping density of Ir(piq)2(acac) on the luminescence properties.The structure of the devices is ITO/PVK:Ir(piq)2(acac)/BCP/Alq3/Al. The doping weight ratio of Ir(piq)2 is 3%,5%,8%, 10%, separately. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra and electroluminescence (EL) spectra of these devices are measured. Through the analysis of their luminescence properties, we found that when the Ir(piq)2(acac) s doping density is 8%, the device exhibited a pur red-light emission having narrow half-width and steady luminescence.2.Select CBP as doner, we manufactured a series of OLED devices. Investigated the effect of different doping density of Ir(piq)2(acac) on the luminescence properties.The structure of the devices is ITO/CBP:Ir(piq)2(acac)/BCP/Alq3/Al.The doping weight ratio of Ir(piq)2(acac) is 3%,5%,8%,10%, separately. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra and electroluminescence (EL) spectra of these devices are measured. Through the analysis of their luminescence properties, we found that the best doping density of Ir(piq)2(acac) is 8%,when the device exhibited a pur red-light emission having standard red-coordinate and high purity of color.3.Investigated the effect of inorganic nano-material ZnO for the electroluminescence properties of the device.We fabricated PVK:Ir(ppy)3,ZnO as luminescence layer, the structure of the devices is ITO/PVK:Ir(ppy)3:ZnO/BCP/Alq3/Al. We seeked for ZnO's best doping density to enhance the devices luminescence performance.4.Doping Ir(piq)2(acac) and Firpic phosphorescence material with PVK, we manufactured a series of codoped devices.After optimized the structure of the devices, we obtained a white emission spectrum.This work set the stage for white OLEDs.
