Ultra Wide-band (UWB) is a kind of technique which uses quite narrow pulse (about several ns or less than ns) as the signal wave. It has a great advantage on ranging and location that no other wireless location system can compare. As a result, the development of UWB high positioning system becomes a hot among the global world.In this paper, the precision of the UWB communication and positioning integrative system is 5 centimeter and also it can realize a low rate communication. The main contributions of the thesis are as follows:1. The scheme of the UWB communication and positioning system was proposed, in which the synchronization of the reference stations was realized through fiber transmission and the TDOA was got with TDM.2. The low rate communication scheme of the up-link was also proposed. The parameter of the system was given, and finally the communication links of the system were simulated, include the performance of AWGN and narrow-band interference environment, the capture probability in interference and multi-path environment. It showed that the DS-BPSK UWB system is a good anti-jamming system. The simulation on MUI provided a reference of the users'number for the system.3. The FPGA hardware scheme of the communication link was designed and the FPGA design and functional simulation of some main components in the system was implemented.
