With the development of image processing technology,electronic image stabilization technology is a new method which is the integration of the electronic,computer and image processing technology. Traditional electronic image stabilization system is based on "camera-image capture card-the computer" mode so that image detection and matching algorithmsare can be completed by computer. But the computer is a single instruction cycle of the serial processing of data which is difficult to adjust to the processing speed requirements and the share of larger system is difficult to meet some special occasions which the volume of the processing system requirements.The article discusses the problems of the traditional electronic image stabilization system and builts the image embedded electronic stabilization system which contains the high-speed video acquisition module, image pre-processing module, motion estimation module, output module and other parts.The system is based on ARM and FPGA platform.For the difference of a fixed and a sports scene,this article proposes different motion estimation algorithms which apply to their specific circumstances. This paper mainly contains the following research content.The article analysis the characteristics of ARM and FPGA for image stabilization platform design and is given for the system design methods and processes.Analysis of the electronic image stabilization algorithm is the basic principle of a fixed scene and sports scene for two cases presented different motion estimation algorithm for camera movement with a clear scan the situation corrected Kalman filter, to isolate the camera scanning motion and jitter noise, the final motion vector for compensation.The article designs and implements based on ARM and FPGA image stabilization system.The article Image achieve a detailed exposition about the specific about ARM in respect of acquisition, algorithm optimization, FPGA co-design of software and hardware image stabilization system.The article studies and solves the key technical problem which is about building FPGA-based embedded electronic image stabilization system. The results show that ARM-based electronic image stabilization system is low cost, low power consumption and so on.The FPGA-based embedded electronic image stabilization system could complete real-time video image acquisition and the global motion vector estimation and motion vector correction of a series of tasks well and is with good prospects.
