Android OS Transplant Based On ARM9 S3C2440

Android primitively means robot and the name of Linux platform open source operation system build by Google on Nov 5th 2007. This platform consists of operation system, integration library, GUI, application programe. Android is the first open source and mobile software made for mobile terminal.Android OS have been popular with embedded system fans and manufacturers since it was born with the characters of opening and transplant. This article describes both the character of Android and the future of its development. Android has its particular driver and file system which is different from Linux. Now most portable devices of Android are based on ARM11 platform which is applied mostly in commercial products. Here we talk about the feasibility of transplanting Android OS to ARM9, list the progress of designing details such as schematic, PCB, Android kernel and Android file system, summarize the problems when make it realize. In the end Android OS can boot its kernel and mount file system successfully and transplant to ARM9 platform with main application function.
