| Large numbers of the Yellow Register files have come into being in Ming dynasty due to the extensive practice of the Yellow Register system over a long period of time. It relates to the long term peace and stability of Ming whether the Yellow Register files can be effectively administered. Based on the research of Ming history, there are many relevant works on the Yellow Register and this system. Nevertheless, few of them focus on the research of preserving Ming Yellow Register files and combine with the history of archives development from the perspective of records management. Accordingly, with the administrative institutions for the Yellow Register files in Ming as the research object and using the research approach in History and Archives Science, this paper analyzes in depth the installation and characteristics of the Yellow Register files in Ming dynasty, explores the records management of the Yellow Register archives at different levels and summarizes the significance and influence of its occurrence and development as well. It is expected that this comprehensive research of the Yellow Register archives in Ming dynasty will offer more references for current construction and management of archives in China. |
