| Census register is one of the important special archives in ancient China, the yellow register documents of Ming Dynasty is typical in the history of register records. Our archival community has many gaps in research field of Chinese Archival history, study on the Ming Dynasty census register system can enrich theoretical results of Ancient specialized field of archives, with the value of academic research and practical significance. This article on the census register system background, establishment principle and the content of the system were described in detail. The Ming Dynasty census register system is formed by the serial demand.
