During people's daily life, radio has been widely used to transfer voices. The radio, as the receiver of radio waves, has been a common thing in most family. And this is a sign of the rapid development of radio-based communication. Radio broadcasting has two forms frequency modulation (FM) and amplitude modulation (AM). Among them, frequent modulation is the top choice because it has more stable signals and clear voices. Compared with drive plate tune radio, digital tune radio can easily choose the right channel, store it and can be easily indicated. Meantime, certain equipments which designed by analog components, can not be changed because of its high work frequency totally depend on the layout and wiring of circuit and component parameter. Adopting digital components could solve this problem easily.Based on the software radio,A digital FM radio has been introduced in this paper. It explores how to adopt it in wireless broadcasting system. This system adopts FPGA as the core processor, using its powerful logic control and rapid calculation performance, successfully realizes the software design, including the design of signal receiving tuner, high-speed ADC/DAC control, demodulation, automatic gain control and so on, and finally proposes a feasible design scheme for software defined radio.This paper mainly focuses on the software and hardware of the receiver. As the experiments result shows that this radio receiver is stable and can reach the demand of its project design. It is a good example that the software radio can be adopted in radio broadcasting.
