The mobile general test system is a system that focuses on automatic test of mobile RF and operation performance. With the economic globalization, the telecommunication industry develops rapidly in recent 10 years. As the lead industry, mobile phone industry has quite positive market and benefit. With more and more companies involving into this industry, the competition becomes severer than before.To enhance capability in the competition, improve mobile phone quality, increase production yield, decrease cost, mobile phone manufacturer needs adopt a fast, fully, and automatic test system for mobile phone functional testing besides advance the automation of production line. This has become the key in the business.Due to the complexity and variety of wireless networks, there are many types of mobile phone, such as GSM, CDMA2000, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA. The diversity of wireless networks brings huge challenges to design of mobile phone automatic test system. The development and maintenance cost will be huge if separated test system was developed for each type mobile phone, and this will waste resource and cause duplicated investment. That will be the obstacle of business development, and also, not compatible with low carbon and environmental protection strategy. To solve above problems, this thesis focuses on a general mobile automatic test system for various types mobile phones to optimize resource, align and manage test cases. This system also gives a open design interface for the future. The system includes two main parts, software control and interactivity, hardware support and execution. SW development bases on LabWindows CVI for source code writing. We use XML, the structural language, to make the organization and expansion of test cases. TestStand is used for test sequence developing, debugging and executing. Based on the evaluation result from the department that author worked for, the optimized design of production line on line test system will increase the productivity and yield rate. And no too much investment is needed with the adjustment of current resource. This thesis is a good illustration for those enterprises which don't have automatic production on line test system, it will help them to achieve the target economically and simply.The system is designed and implemented following the electron and communication engineering theory base on GSM system. It provides a general solution for mobile phone production on line test with expandable interface.
