| With the rapid development of computer networks, communication technology, multimedia technology, pattern recognition technology, sensor technology and data compression technology, security problem has become one of the most important problems in modern society, especially for the confidential units, such as the army, banks and prisons. The traditional security monitoring system which takes the advantage of new technology has been developing to new directions and aimed to implement "technology safeguard" instead of "person safeguard". The current direction of the defense system is digitalization, network-orientation, integration and intellectualization. This system is developed according to the above factors.The security and defense system which is introduced in this thesis consists of four main modules:network alarm module, online patrol module, access control module, and video monitoring module. Network alarm subsystem can provide some alarm information when there are some exceptional situations. Online patrol subsystem has the function of inspection management. Access control subsystem is in charge of checking on work attendance. Video monitoring subsystem is responsible for monitoring the main defensive region. In this thesis, design of video monitoring subsystem including video capture module, video transmission module and motion detection module are specified, and the corresponding client software is introduced.In this thesis, first, the background, social needs and practical value of the system are introduced. Then Directshow, video decoding, audio and video compression, and other related technologies about detection of moving objects is presented. In the following part, design of security and defense system and implementation of video monitoring subsystem and video player are illustrated. Finally, testing of the video monitoring system is specified. The testing results are presented and evaluated, and shortcomings are pointed out. |
