MANET, also known as mobile Ad-hoc network, is a self-organized and don't rely on any infrastructures. It is easy to deploy, requires little energy and could be embedded in mobile devices so this technology has a bright future. With the fast development of MANET, in order to maximum its use, Internet connectivity is desired for MANET to communicate with Internet. So researching the connectivity of Internet and MANET is meaningful and very practical. The subject of this paper comes from the ministry of education, which aims at realizing an ad-hoc dynamic gateway based on MANET routing protocols and mobile IP so fulfill the connectivity of MANET and Internet. This paper focuses on Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR)'s solution. The paper first discussed MANET's work principle, key technologies and different routing protocols such as AODV, DSR, DSDV and their comparison and differences and then explained the detail of OLSR routing protocol's principle and also mobile IP mechanism. After that, this paper explained dynamic gateway's architect, message syntax and function modules such as gateway discovery, gateway selection and gateway switch procedures. Detailed implementations including data structure of OLSR, message forwarding, network interface detecting, HNA sending and HNA processing is then given. This paper also made a brief explain on the test and simulation result. The results indicated that, the dynamic gateway can connect MANET with Internet without extra traffic so have a better performance. In the end, the paper proposed the deficiency in research and future work.
