With the explosive growth of network data, and a growing awareness of the importance of network storage, Storage Area Network has been developed rapidly, Fibre Channel (FC) technology as a mainstream technology of Storage Area Network has been widely used. FCoE (Fibre Channel over Ethernet) technology, through consolidated the current large-scale application of Ethernet and Fibre Channel technology, based on protection of the user's existing investment in Fibre Channel architecture and seamless connection with Ethernet, it can reduce interface card, and the number of cables and network equipment of data center, achieve reduced complexity and costs of the data center, meanwhile reduce energy consumption.The objective of this project is a storage switch which can support protocol of FC and FCoE, called FCF (FCoE Forwarder). This project aims to complete the software function of FCF equipment, support the protocol of FC and FCoE on the software platform. This article focuses on two key, one is the design and implementation of Exchange Link Parameter, the other is the design and implementation of process of Name Service.First, this article briefly introduces the development phase of the storage network, then analyses the advantages of Storage Area Network, by comparing advantages and disadvantages of FC, iSCSI and FCoE, this paper discusses market positioning and promotion value of FCF switches.After introducing essence of FC protocol, this article analysis the whole demands of FCoE, then focus on demands of negotiation of Exchange Link Parameter and process of Name Service. Based on this, this article complete design and implementation of Exchange Link Protocol and process of Name Service, descript points of the unit test and system test, establish environment of the system test, through analyzing the test results, suggest opinion of improvements, this project finally implement negotiation of Exchange Link Parameter and process of Name Service on software platform. |
