With application of optical fiber technology, core network has been greatly improved stability and security of data, and has also been very good to ensure large-capacity data transmission over backbone network. However, with the increase in network traffic, especially, video and voice services, IPTV, online games, the user docking network bandwidth requirements have become more sophisticated in recent years. Traditional access methods have been difficult to meet the user's requirement, FTTX technology has good solution to the problem of insufficient bandwidth. PON technology as a model of FTTx, provides users with high bandwidth, low power consumption, and less investment in broadband access technology. In the PON technology, IEEE proposed EPON/802.3ah Ethernet-based and GPON ITU-T issued has already begun a large-scale deployment of the pilot stage. Both PON technology may provide G-bit level of bandwidth,10G EPON and WDM technology has begun to pilot stage, and PON technology will provide greater bandwidth.With the integration of network services, as well as VoIP, IPTV, VOD and other applications in popularity, not only put forward higher requirements for network bandwidth, but also the network packet loss, delay jitter, and QoS requirements are are needed different requirements, make the need of different QoS for different access network applications and the corresponding quality assurance, and greatly increased the difficulty of network management, all these requirements force management of access networks toward more convenient and more intelligent. As the need of network traffic scheduling and management, core network and access network will gradually evolve to intelligent, and ultimately achieve the whole network intelligence. At present, research on intelligent network management has focused on the core network and local area network, while the research on intelligent access network is still the minority.Based on the National Natural Science Foundation of the topic, "Intelligent Optical Access key technologies" (60,672,025), study the intelligent access network management and access network-based testing technology. This paper outlines the concept of intelligent access network, and some of the key technologies and network characteristics. Realization the intelligent management of the ONU based on the access network management system, provide mainly features:vlan function, mirroring data services, port rates of control, the application of B/S mode to achieve management system for remote operation, which further network management to facilitate the operation of the working environment. Network performance testing and analysis is to understand the quality of network operation and very important to design of better network management, network traffic is the main network performance evaluation metrics. In this paper, through test specifications docking network research and analysis, and based on "EPON"access methods, we research the network-based access network test methods, and realize access network test using the automated script testing method.As a mumber of Beijing University of Posts and Communications Network Test Technology Research Center, the author primarily involved in development of Control System of Intelligent Access Network. Mainly completed the following work:1. Read a large number of books about access network and systems platform, research on access network key technologies and intelligent access network's features, achieve BCM5338 chip driver design and implementation.2. Analysis of datasheet chip BCM5338, design network management software archtecture and achieve WEB management. The main function of this system is ONU port mode configuration, data mirroring and VALN aggregation functions.3. Research the theory and test methods of access network system testing, build the network model of EPON-based access technology, process performance and functional test, and test and analyzer network performance of access network based on different traffic models.The paper has mainly contains the following three parts, which is summarized during the learning and research time.1. Have a detailed description of access network key technology and intelligent network access network characteristics, realize the access network management platform, and research access network test technology;2. Mainly introduct the design and implementation of network management system, including needs analysis, overall design, hardware and software implementation.3. Introduct access network test technologies, including the access network performance testing and analysis, achieve EPON access network testing, as well as the next step outlooks.For the limitations of author's theoretical level and practical experience, the inappropriateness are inevitable, I earnestly urge teachers and experts criticized the correction.
