Research On The Technology And Application Of Robotic Roller Hemming

Hemming is a mechanical joining method that typically used to connect two metal sheets components, such as the inner and outer panels of automobile door, hood and trunk lid. The local key technology is laid behind the oversea sophisticated in planning, design and process.Roller hemming process and traditional hemming technology was discussed, and bending deformation of the product was analyzed, with door and hood structures being analyzed. The key equipment and control system of robotic roller hemming system was introduced. Simulation on ROBCAD platform was studied to design and validate the plant of robotic roller hemming process. In the end, quality defects which appearing in the practical application was discussed, and the feasible measures were advanced.One project was taken as an instance for implementation of planning, simulation and audit.
