Integrated with the world market for over twenty years, hotel industry in China has developed into a sound situation both in its quantities and scales. As to its management, Chinese hotel industry through adaptation of the advanced theories and experience of the foreign countries has also folded their own modes and methods.With the quicken space of hotel industrialization, hotel management corporations are booming in China. At the same time, since their capabilities and business scope are also improved, some of the great hotels in China ranked with the "the World 300 Best Hotel" have established their own features and brands. After China's entry of the WTO, more and more foreign-owned hotels come into the Chinese market, which arouses a cut-throat competition. In this way, to compete with those foreign owned hotels, the Chinese hotels have to develop themselves from many perspectives among which the human resource management should be offered with due attentions.To sum up, competition in the hotel industry is the scramble for talents. A competent manager is regarded as the key point for the company's success and the establishment of its brand. However, nowadays, the mobility of talents is a big problem for most of the hotel management corporations in China. Obviously,it is important to set up a fully functioning system so as to attract the talents.Thanks to the previous studies on the human resource management in hotel industry, more and more hotels begin to realize the importance of constructing a comprehensive system in human resource management. However, such kind of awareness should also be emphasized for a better development in the hotel management corporations. This paper narrows its scope on the comparison of HRM between hotels and hotel management corporations. Moreover, taking the experience of some successful foreign hotel groups as its case studies, this paper explores the methods of HRM from some indispensable perspectives such as the planning, selecting, training and tapping of the human resource so as to contribute to the promotion of the brilliant future of Chinese hotel management corporations.
