A Positive Analysis On The Contribution Of Sino-American Bilateral Trade To China's Economic Growth

The thesis analyzes the direct and indirect contribution of Sino-American bilateral trade to China's economic growth, combining the theory and means of econometrics and international trade and industrial economics. At last it draws a conclusion and gives some advice to Sino-American bilateral trade.The thesis is composed of five chapters besides the abstract, the appendix and the reference.Chapter One belongs to the introduction. At first it mainly explains some important concepts of the thesis, including the meaning and object of the thesis, practical meaning of the thesis and the means of research of the thesis. Meanwhile the chapter is the basis of the theory of the thesis. It introduces the related research about the relationship between trade and economic growth of some domestic and foreign economists, and introduces simply the means of their research. At last it introduces the present research finding about the relationship between trade and economic growth.Chapter Two introduces the history, the present situation of Sino-American bilateral trade and the character of structure of merchandise of Sino-American bilateral trade. It mainly analyzes the development and the present situation of Sino-American bilateral trade, and points out the total trend of change of the structure of merchandise of Sino-American bilateral trade.Chapter Three analyzes the direct contribution of Sino-American bilateral trade to China's economic growth. At first it points out the deficiency of the traditional models about the relationship between trade and economic growth, and points out the train of thoughts and the means of correction. Then the deficiency is corrected. Meanwhile it makes a positive model about Sino-American bilateral trade to China's economic growth which is based on the correction, and estimates the model by means of two-stage least squares. At last it makes use of some data and calculates the direct contribution rate of Sino-American bilateral trade to China's economic growth.Chapter Four analyzes the indirect contribution of Sino-American bilateral trade to China's economic growth. It mainly analyzes Sino-American bilateral trade and the adjustment of China's industrial structure from the structure of China's exporting merchandise of Sino-American bilateral trade, the structure of China's importing merchandise of Sino-American bilateral trade and the intra-industry trade between China and America. Meanwhile it analyzes the indirect contribution of Sino-American bilateral trade to China's economic growth.Chapter Five gives some advice to Sino-American bilateral trade. At first it points out the countermeasure and adjustment of strategy of China's trade in the perspective of the adjustment of structure of China's trade. It will make China's trade contribute to upgrading of China's industrial structure greatly. Then it gives some concrete advice to Sino-American bilateral trade.
