A Study On Development Strategy Of Silgen Biotechnologies

This thesis studies the development strategy of Silgen Biotechnologies (Shenzhen),LLC. In the first part of the thesis, it is the basic introduction, development historyand present status of the company. The Silgen Biotechnologies that is talked abouthereby is a small-sized biotechnological enterprise that is at exploration stage. On onehand, it has advantages such as the possession of independent knowledge propertyrights and abundant funds;on the other hand, a lot of problems exist, as the companyapplies compound technologies that involve biotechnologies, and blendedtechnologies of optics, mechanics and electronics and IT technologies. Therefore, it isnow a great challenge for Silgen Technologies to integrate internal resources andrealize the industrialization of the products as soon as possible.With the PEST method, this thesis analyzed such factors that affect the developmentof diagnostic assay as external political, economical, legal, social and technicalproblems. The thesis also applied Porter's Five-Forces Model in analyzing the fiveelements of competition of Silgen Biotech, with the purpose of finding out theadvantages of the enterprise in the company and set up the main developmentdirection of the enterprise.The thesis also analyzed the value system of the management team and their conceptand thought about the development direction of the enterprise, with the informationgot from the conversation with the management team. In addition, the thesis analyzedthe development strategy and put forward some proposals, according to the presentdevelopment status and resources. And proposals about the specific measures that canbe taken to implement the development of the strategies are also made in the thesis.There presents an elementary design of the implementation of the strategies in theaspects of human resources planning, production line of research and development,construction of quality system, the pricing model of products and the introduction ofstrategic partner.Biotechnology is an industry that has a bright future, yet it is an industry of high risksas well. At present, the economic losses of biotechnology industry in the whole worldhave exceeded 40 billion US dollars. Therefore, this study not only can play a role asa reference and guide to the future development of Silgen Biotechnologies, but alsocan be a valuable reference for the small and middle-sized biotechnologicalenterprises that are at a stage of exploration, and guide them in controlling risks andestablishing their own development strategies.
