The Performance Management System's Design And Implementation Of The Batch Data Entry Department In Hsbc Electronic Data Processing (Guangdong) Limited

This thesis focuses on the topic of how to create a new performance management system ~ Multi-level Integrated Performance Management System (MIPMS), and implement it in Batch Data Entry Department (BDE) of HSBC Electronic Data Processing (Guangdong) Limited. The original performance management system was the one that only based on the Balance Score Card (BSC) performance management system. Since the staff trainings on performance management were not sufficient, the staffs' qualities were various, and the BSC performance management system had its own disadvantages, most staffs couldn't face the performance management with a active attitude. Of course, the company couldn't meet the targets, too.In order to solve the above problems, the author of this article attended the activities of MIPMS's design, and implemented it in BDE successfully. This new system is a creative performance management system, which integrated with the advantages of three different performance management systems. At company's and departments' levels, the new system manages company's and departments' performance with BSC models on the aspects of Financial, Customer, Internal Operations, and HR System and Development (learning and growth), so that company and departments are able to operate in balance. At the staffs' level, it helps staffs increase their efficiencies and accuracy rates with Key Performance Indicator (KPI) models, and also helps staffs have the perfect trainings which they are lack of with 360 Degree models. The results have proved that there is no best, just suitable. If we want an effective performance management, we have to have a research on the company's or department's details. MIPMS has improved BDE's efficiency 30%~ 40% successfully, and solved the problems which were caused by the old system.
