With information globalization, with the gradual development of economic integration, especially after joining WTO, more and more Chinese enterprises have gone out of the gateway of a country, and some foreign enterprise face the choice that whether accept or reject their business out of the need of strategy. In this case, some Chinese enterprises have chosen the road of cross—border M&A. It is an essential way for modern enterprise to develop soundly by strengthening its core competence, to Chinese enterprises whose core competence is not very strong, cross—border M&A is a double-edged sword, on one hand it has offered shortcut, on the other hand it bring the enormous risk. This dissertation is based on cross—border M&A and core competence theory, discuss the way and threaten while Chinese enterprises make use of cross—border M&A to strengthen core competence.Chapter one mainly introduce the relevant theories of cross—border M&A and core competence, and the connection between the two.Chapter two probe into the advantage and necessity when Chinese enterprises make use of cross—border M&A, probe into how Chinese enterprises structure their core competence.Chapter three discuss the general risk when Chinese enterprises make use of cross—border M&A, discuss how evade the general risk.Chapter four focus on analyzing the case how TCL Group make use of cross-border M&A to structure their core competence.
