A Study On The Impact Of Foreign Direct Investment On Our Country's Industrial Structure

The economic globalization is one of the most important characteristics of the world economy in the 21st century. Under this background, more and more countries are stimulating their economy by foreign direct investment (FDI). With the transfer of capital, labor, technique, management and marketing network, the host country's industrial structure is changing toward a higher level.This thesis investigates the influences on industrial structure optimization for foreign direct investment in our country. It constructs a theoretical framework to analyze the impact of foreign direct investment on the industrial structures of the host country. After reviewing some related foreign direct investment theories, the impact on industrial structure for direct investment in our country is analyzed.After introducing the general situation of foreign direct investment in our country since the economic reform and opening, with great deal of data, this thesis explains the characteristics of industrial distribution of foreign direct investment and evolvement of China's industrial structure, then, analyzes the relations between them. Basing on the theoretical analysis, this thesis makes a quantitative analysis of the impacts of foreign direct investment on the industrial structure and a regression study on the relation between the foreign direct investment and industrial structure transformation. It reveals that foreign direct investment has introduced not only the positive influences but also some negative ones.Finally, on the base of the analysis, this thesis proposes some suggestions to improve the positive impact of foreign direct investment to our country's industrial structure optimization.
