The Theory Analysis And Positive Research In The Diversification Of Port Enterprises

The diversification is an effective way for the port enterprises to avoid the excessive competition and disperse the risk, and it is also an inevitable choice when ports own a certain scale. With the quick process of the economic globalization, the operation environment and function of the port have all changed enormously, in the face of the drastic market competition, the port enterprises should regard one's own condition and the state of management as the starting-point, and choose a management mode which will facilitate its own development. When the single management mode can not be suitable for the demand of the port development, the diversification becomes the favorable choice in the further development and the strengthening of port competitive power.The article analysis the particularity of port enterprises comparing general enterprises, and the motive, entry way, feasible route and risk evade of port enterprises in terms of relevant theories of diversification. The article also summarizes practice and experience of the diverse operation of the domestic and international typical port at present. After discussing the feasible mode and the industrial choice of the diversification, the text has carried on the positive research of the performance relation and the diversification. In the positive research, we selected 9 listed port enterprises, and regarded the data from 2002 to 2004 as the guideline of studying, and adopted a research approach of the relevant theory, and got the follow relation of the variables, then described this kind of relation with certain formula. At last, we confirmed the influence degree of the performance and financial risk to port enterprises in diverse intensity. In the analysis of performance and diverse intensity to port enterprises, this text not only analyzed the relevance between the diverse intensity of the overall samples and performance, but it also considered the fact of port scale, and analyzed the influence of class 1 and class 2 port after port enterprises implemented the strategy of diversification.
