Brand is the most valuable wealth of city. Against the background of integration with the global economy, if a city doesn't want to be wash out in fierce contention he should keep favorable position in market competition through city brand. If a city have brand means that it can attract more investment and person with ability. We can say that the significance in building city brand have been realized by people in nowadays.Not only many big cities but also small cities in our country begun to build city brand such as Shanghai, and wanted to gain advantages through city branding. But due to immature theory and other reasons there were many problems in building process. In such a case, the thesis synthesized academic fruit of foreign city brand and deeply discussed the problem about Chinese city brand.The thesis expatiates on basic theory about city brand firstly, that make people understanding the meaning of city brand rightly. Secondly we expatiate on the scientific building process of city brand. Then on the basis of that, the thesis analyzed the background of city brand's appearance and its present condition in China. And we also bring forward problems in process of building city branding. Finally, the thesis put forward countermeasure to solve the problems based on successful experience both at Home and abroad.
