Eating habits have undergone major change in many countries over the last two decades and new food production, preparation and distribution techniques have developed to reflect this. Effective hygiene control, therefore, is vital to avoid the adverse human health and economic consequences of foodborne illness, foodborne injury, and food spoilage.And now, the whole level of food safety is not high in our country. To strengthen the surveillance over food producer and guarantee food safety and hygiene quality, Sanitary Registration for Food processing Establishment for Export system is implemented in our country.The following are several main reasons that affect food safety in our country.1.Food production, processing, and marketing systems are complex in our country. The systems are also highly fragmented and dependent upon a large number of small producers. As large quantities of food pass through a multitude of food handlers and middlemen, the risk of exposing food to unhygienic environments, contamination and adulteration increases. Problems occur as a result of poor postharvest handling, processing and storage of food and also due to inadequate facilities and infrastructure such as the absence or shortage of safe water supply, electricity, storage facilities including cold stores, and transport facilities and networks, etc.2.Protection level of food standards to achieving food safety and quality is low in our country. Many of them have lower protection level than those of developed countries and international standards.3.Responsibility of food control is shared between some different departments and ministries in our country.
