In the world today, the housing problem is a matter of the utmost concern in every country. To successfully solving the housing problem, the support of housing finance is indispensable. In China, low-and-middle income households account for 80% of gross population, people's income level is generally low and the capital market is still underdeveloped. Under these circumstances, Contract savings for housing (CSH), a kind of housing finance system, which is aimed at help the low to middle income groups obtaining long-term housing finance, has been becoming a cause for concern. To make the readers realize the feasibility and practiced significance of the implementation of CSH in China, the thesis made a discussion about how suitable is CSH for China and whether the CSH could effectively solve Chinese people's housing finance problems by analyzing two dominant CSH models: the French Epargne-Logement and the German Bauspar in details.The whole thesis is divided to five parts: The first part is preface. The author briefly explained the reasons why Contract Savings for Housing attracts Chinese financial reformers and then drew out the purpose and significance of this thesis.The second part is the theory about Contract Savings Scheme for Housing. In this part, the author briefly introduced the basic operation mechanism at first, and then explained the general features of CSH and set out the effect that CSH will make on the national economy from prospect of social economy. Finally, the author made a full exposition of the birth, difference and the large-scale success about the French Epargne-Logement and the German Bauspar.The third part is about the estimation of Contract Saving for Housing System. The author made estimation, from the three participating parties, about the condition, impacts and the effects on solving the housing finance problems of introducing CSH.The fourth part is the research of CSH suitability to China. The author firstly explained the main features of the macroeconomic environment of China and the factors that will affect the Chinese housing finance by doing which could pave the way for analyzing the feasibility of introducing CSH. Then, the author made a discussion and analysis about whether it is suitable for China to introducing CSH, whether China has had some conditions needed and what kind of mode is proper for China to implement.The last part is about introducing the CSH with Chinese characteristics.
