A Study On The Competitiveness Of Chinese Financing Lease

Financing lease has been developed rapidly with an average annual growth rate of 20%-30% after its emergence in America in 1952, and more than 100 countries have established financing lease business at the end of 2000. As a financing method with unique characteristics, financing lease has become the second most important channel to raise fund only after banking credit, and been called " new industry". Financing lease has been introduced into China in 1981, and experienced substantial improvement and made great contribution to the economic development of China. However, the current performance of Chinese financing lease is a bit disappointed, and wide gape exists between China and other developed countries in aspect of financing lease business. What are the reasons for the sluggish development of Chinese financing lease? How about the competitiveness of Chinese financing lease? What must we do to enhance the competitiveness of Chinese financing lease? All these urgent problems ask for solutions.With these questions, this paper seeks to study the competitiveness of Chinese financing lease and offer some suggestions to speed up its development and enhance its competitiveness. While there are some preparations for this, they are the overview of financing lease, especially its comparative advantages over other financing methods, and the history and status quo of Chinese financing lease. In a whole, this paper is composed of four chapters.Chapter one is an overview of financing lease including its development history, definition, general forms and characteristics. The key section of this chapter is the comparative analysis about the advantages of financing lease, which also is the foundation for the competitiveness of Chinese financing lease. In addition, this chapter elaborates financing lease's special effects on one country's whole economy to argue its competitiveness.Chapter two primarily aims to elaborate the development of financing lease in China in terms of growth stages and relevant enterprises. The analysis of the four policy environment in China is the key part of this chapter.
