Opening small holes is often ocurring in the members of machinery manufacturing andengineering structures. Under the force process, it will cause stress concentration around theholes, and stress concentration is an important factor of structure damage. So, it is necessaryto concider the impact of the structure on forces with a quare hole when design the structuremenber. For simple square hole stress concentration problems, many experts have done amore detailed comprehensive study. For the analysis of rectangular hole, it could usenuberical method, conformal mapping method and analytical method to obtain nubericalsolution and analysis solution of stress concenttation factor. But it is few study forthree-dimensional square hole stress concentration problems.This paper presents an analytical study on the stress concentration problem due to acuboid hole in structures under tension and shear load. The governing equation with cyclicperiodicities in three directions of8-node24degrees of freedom finite element model isestablished. Then the equation is coupled by U-transpormation to get the solution ofdisplacement and stress of each unit node arourd the hole; calculate the stress concentrationfactor of the structure under uniaxial tension, biaxial tension, three-way tension and shearload. The impact of stress concentration factor under the size of cuboid hole is changing isdiscussed. Finaly, the accuracy of the solution is validated by finite element software.
