The double abrasive vessel continuous feeding system of pre-mixed abrasivewater jet cutting machine is developing rapidly in recent years. The system has broadapplication prospects, but there are still some difficulties about the real-timemonitoring of abrasive vessel. According to such problems, this paper put forward theof Ultrasonic-based real-time Monitoring, and the theory and practice of the scheme isresearched in this paperBased on the basic the theory of liquid-solid fluidization, the abrasive particles inthe axial stress distribution was analyzed, and the equation of motion which is morewidespread of particles has deduced. This paper expounds the relationship betweenthe relative parameters of fluid movement speed of the abrasive particles when thefluid force balance and the abrasive density with fluid density. Then, it is concludedthat the critical speed of abrasive particles when it does not go with water. This paper expounds the theory of several kinds of ultrasonic interface detectionscheme in the current According to the special condition of pre-mixed abrasive waterjet cutting machine double vessel feeding system of abrasive vessel, selects thefeasible plan of abrasive monitoring, and analysis the advantages and disadvantagesof each scheme. Then, the experimental platform is set up to validate the feasibility, and the loading and unloading process of abrasive vessel is simulated. Ultrasonicprobe is stick in the abrasive vessel at different position, and the comparative analysisof test results under different traffic is done. It is feasible that monitoring vesselabrasive volume by reflecting plate through sticking ultrasonic probe into the wall, and analysis the reasons of error between the ultrasonic measurement of acousticdistance and true date reading through the metric scale test. It will provide reliablebasis for ultrasonic interface detection better applied to monitor the abrasive vesselvolume.
