Study On Elizabeth Potter’s Feminism Philosophy Of Science From Perspective Of Anti-Value-free

The concept of value-free in philosophy caused widespread controversy inphilosophy, especially in philosophy of science. Feminism philosophy of science use itsunique perspective to response this issue. As a representative of post-modern feminismphilosophy of science, Elizabeth Potter tries to sharply criticize the concept ofvalue-free in philosophy of science. Porter is a scholar who has rich experience inteaching and practice. At the same time she is leader of women program in the famousMills College, which is led by her to explore the forefront associated field in the world.She developed the concept of context value and its close connection with the process offormation and accept of scientific hypothesis. From this point of view, she puts forwardthe concept of anti-value-free. Furthermore, she focused on the description aspects andmeta-philosophical norms.Comparing her feminism philosophy of science thought with other feminismphilosophy of science thought and dating back to the issue in philosophy of science, thispaper analyzes Potter’s thought by means of introduction of context in linguisticphilosophy, post-modernism and meta-physics. The innovation and significance of herthought are demonstrated as well as its shortcomings.
