This thesis is devoted to investigating sliding mode control (SMC) for twodifferent kinds of stochastic systems. It includes three chapters:Chapter I is Introduction, which consists of research background and main researchcontents.Chapter II is concerned with H∞sliding mode control for uncertain time-delaysystems subjected to input nonlinearity and stochastic perturbations. Using the slidingmode control, a robust law is derived to guarantee the reachability of the sliding surfacein a finite time interval. The sufficient conditions on asymptotic stability of the errorsystem and sliding mode dynamics with disturbance attenuation level are presented interms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, an example is provided to illustratethe efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed method. In chapter III, we investigate observer-based H∞sliding mode controller designfor a class of nonlinear uncertain neutral Markovian switching systems (NUNMSs) withgeneral uncertain transition rates. In this case, each transition rate can be completelyunknown or only its estimate value is known. Firstly, an H∞non-fragile observersubjected to the general uncertain transition rates of the NUNMSs is constructed. Bysome specified matrices, the connections among the designed sliding surfacescorresponding to every mode are founded. Secondly, the state-estimation-based slidingmode control law is designed to guarantee the reachability of the sliding surface in finitetime interval. Thirdly, an asymptotically stochastic stability criterion is established toguarantee the error system and sliding mode dynamics to be asymptotically stochasticstable with a given disturbance attenuation level. Finally, an example is provided toillustrate the efficiency of the proposed method.
