Seismic forward modeling plays an important role in seismic exploration, it is the foundation and scientific、theoretical basis provider of the analysis of the seismic data acquisition, processing, interpretation. At the same time, it can also test the feasibility and the accuracy of the processes above.Model technique is a method to simplify the complex actual strata or deposition body. The anisotropic, lithological issues, absorption, attenuation in shallow layers, diffraction, reflection and refraction phenomena can influence the results of the seismic exploration. According to different actual data, different model can be established to simulate the seismic wave response characteristics through the wave equation.In the processing of the seismic data, the complex underground situation can lead to complex and variable geological characteristics on the profile of seismic data, which is difficult to recognize. Then the modeling technique becomes a very efficient method to correctly recognize the propagation rule and the wave field characteristics. Through the forward modeling research, the different seismic response patterns can be established to effectively avoid the multiplicity of solutions in actual interpretation. The wave equation method, as one of the main methods of seismic forward modeling, can simulate the seismic wave propagation theoretically while maintain the dynamics and kinematics characteristics. Theory of finite-difference method based on difference theory, can effectively solve the wave equation and be adapted to the complexity of the underground media. Ray tracing method, as another main methods of seismic forward modeling, is a method of calculation based on geometrical optics. In the case of high frequency approximation, main power propagate along the ray path of the seismic wave. Seismic reservoir prediction technology gives a strong support for the exploration of subtle oil and gas reservoir, especially for China’s old areas in the east, which need for reliable seismic reservoir prediction and detection of oil and gas to provide reference for deployment. The point of connection between the geological information and the seismic information is the key of the reliability of seismic reservoir prediction. In recent years, the high-precision seismic acquisition conducted in Dongpu sag area, which basically cover the main exploration targets and achieved the improvement of the deep seismic data resolution, which create the conditions for our deep reservoir geological research. Forward and inverse reservoir prediction technique is one of the main technical methods of the subtle oil and gas reservoir exploration and also the basis of seismic technology. Through the establishment of various simulation and analysis of the forward model, the study on seismic response characteristics of different combination of sand and mudstone formation, the analysis of change of information with the stratigraphic lithology、physical properties can be conducted. According to the different geological conditions, the parameters can be optimized and the prediction accuracy of complex geologic body can be raised through the analysis of the forward and inverse model, which can also provide the reference for exploration and development.The seismic description technology series and the explain template applied in Dongpu sag area can be obtained using rock physics, forward and inverse modeling in this paper. The research in this paper also figure out the seismic response features in the complex deep geological deposition bodies. The deep seismic exploration can be carried out through the deep seismic forward modeling. This paper concludes the advanced technology for the recognition of different types of deposition sand body. The processing method is improved, the seismic data quality and the recognition capacity for deep thin storage layer are enhanced. The suitable seismic exploration techniques are summarized for Dongpu area.
