Hydrological and meteorological parameters are one of the most important aspects forexploring and researching the ocean. But as we know, the previous meteorological orhydrological instrument adopts the mode which connecting directly sensor interfaceand central controller, the centralized control can reduce costs effectively, but itsscalability is poor and this mode is lack of open instrument. For the multi-parametersystem, with more parameters and the increasing amount of data, the centralizedcontrol mode cannot meet the work requirements that are stable and efficient, somaintainability becomes poor. In this paper, the design of marine hydrological andmeteorological observation system, which connected the sensor and the maincontroller, based on CAN/LIN bus, not only could meet the requirement of datatransmission, but also made the connection of the whole system simple. Theequipments had a low goodness of fit and the system was more open, bettermaintainable and more stable. The device was divided into control part and sensor part. They connected throughCAN/LIN bus. The sensor part was designed universally, so the device could carry ondifferent sensors. Then the data was collected based on relevant specifications. Thecontrol part was equipped with a MCGS, and a small printer. It collected the data fromsensor part through CAN bus, and transmitted the data to the station on time.According to the work, the application layer protocol of CAN, adapt toMeteorological and oceanographic observations, had been designed. It was based onCAN2.0A/B protocols and used STM32as the main chip. What’s more, the layeredarchitecture of software had been designed, and the top structure had been designedthrough UML.The whole system has been tested worked well with good performance of collectingdata, running software, backup and print.
