In general, time-delay is a common issue in the industrial production. Thecontrol theory with time-delay systems is an important field and a popular topic in theresearch area. Since systems with time-delay acts on the pure hysteresis of the controloutput, the controller is very difficult to be reflected to the controlled object. To thatend, the control system is obviously destroyed in overshoot, steady-state error andstability.Under the same condition of external environment and system parameters, thegeneral Smith-PID control method can play a good effect on the systems withhysteresis after we set reasonable parameters. But it is difficult to establish thespecific mathematical model in the real society because the high accuracy is required.That is the reason why the dynamic performance of the whole system is easilydestroyed, even including its stability. Based on the above reasons, the perfect controleffect is difficult to be achieved.In this paper, we discuss the causes of time delay in the process of production,combine method of the general with the fuzzy control method and present thefuzzy-Smith and fuzzy-PID methods. On the base of simulation by matlab, the resultsshow that the presented control can adapt to the changes of the object and enhance thefeasibility of operation and the robustness.
