Abstract:Shenzhen is the window of reform and opening-up policy. Knowing the home-work distribution structure of Shenzhen is contribute to the development of urban planning and solving problems related to urban, and is help to provide basis on urban planning study. With the development of mobile communication technology, acquiring large-scale mobile phone positioning data becomes easier. Compared to traditional time and effort consuming survey methods and under the trend of using Big Data, acquiring individual home-work locations from mobile phone positioning data is an emerging technology regarding urban studies. Long-term irregularly as well as sparsely sampled mobile phone call data is widely used in existing studies, but comparative research on long-term irregularly call data and short-term regularly sampled mobile phone tracking data are insufficient. Based on two kinds of mobile phone positioning data, this paper includes the following respects.1) Analyzing the characteristics of kinds of data.2) Based on two kinds of mobile phone positioning data and the main land use type data, proposing two simple and effective home-work location identification methods.3) Based on two kinds of mobile phone positioning data, extracting the population distribution characteristics of Shenzhen city, analyzing and verifying different levels of results through multi-source data.4) Based on the identifying results of home-work locations, analyzing the macro-characteristics and the characteristics of typical residential and employment quarter in Shenzhen. This paper also analysis the impact of identifying results of home-work locations and commuting characteristics by using two different data sampling methods, this paper also discuss the reliability of different data sampling methods in the study of individual home-work locations.
