With the development of remote sensing technology, people can get the information of the target surface, target area and phenomenon without direct contact. Since the 1980 s, the advent of hyperspectral technology has improved the ability of remote detecting. Hyperspectral remote sensing technology, also known as imaging spectral remote sensing technology, based on spectroscopy, is able to acquire images in many, narrow and contiguous spectral bands, covering the 0.4-2.5μm wavelength with resolution <10 nm.The data often contains space, radiation and spectral information. Hyperspectral image contains rich spectrum, which makes quantitative measurement of features become possible. It hasgradually become a hotspot in the forefront of research and application of remote sensing.It has been used in the environmental investigation and monitoring, mineral exploration, Marine atmospheric land dynamic monitoring, wide fields such as military applications.Hyperspectral remote sensing alteration mineral mapping method is the key to hyperspectral data processing, a direct impact on the use of mapping results precision and requirement, mapping algorithm mechanism and application are studied in this paper(1)This paper first introduces the mechanism of spectral features. Then,this paper summarizes the causes of the formation of common alteration mineral’s spectrum characteristics. According to the features of different components,we can judge the spectral features of this ground objects. In addition, this paper summarizes the spectrum curve of the alteration mineral which is carbonatization or clay and bivalent iron.(2)This paper presents a systematic introduction to several kind of theory of hyperspectral mapping algorithm which is commonly used and summarizes spectrum feature extraction methods. Through the test,we build simulation data to evaluate the method of Spectral Angle mapping(SAM), spectral information divergence(SIDM) and hybrid modulation matched filtering method(MTMF)’s performance of the algorithm, through comparative analysis, the noise of the data had a great influence on the several methods of mapping accuracy. So before we map rock ore,we should do noise reduction processing for the high signal noise ratio(SNR) images.(3) This paper expounded the processing of handle hyperspectral data and the main method. Taking an example of SASI hyperspectral data, based on the theory of hydrocarbon micro leakage of oil and gas, we get alteration anomalies information of study area’s hydrocarbon, clay and carbonate and we effectively eliminate the interference factors. Combined with te existing geological data and the results of the field,we verify the mapping results of altered mineral.
