Manganese is one of the most important resources of iron and steel smelting industry, also is one of the most important international strategic resources. As with other countries, the type of manganese ore in China is given priority to with sedimentary. Hydrothermal type manganses ore is less, and the small scale have little economic significance. Chongqing is one of China’s five major ore output, Xiuqi manganese deposit is located in the city is a typical example of the local manganese deposit. Xiuqi manganese ore deposit is located in the east of Chengkou-Bashan phosphorus manganese ore belt, and is at the junction of Qinling Mountains orogenic belt and the northern margin of the Yangtze block.In this paper, the Xiuqi manganese ore deposit is the main research object and the key research contents is mineralization characteristics, geological structure, geological characteristics of the deposit, geological characteristics of ore deposit geochemistry research, then we discussion the metallogenic environment and ore material source, ore control factors, and last build the metallogenic model. Through the comprehensive study of various, this paper made some main ideas and results:1, Through the analysis of regional geological features found the Sinian and Cambrian strata is the most important of the area, and the formation of deposits in the Sinian Doushantuo formation.2, Manganese ore mineral is rhodochrosite, gangue mineral is kaolinite, dolomite, calcite. Ore structure are small-medium grain and spherulitic structure, structure of main bands, striate, massive structure. Lean manganese ore minerals mainly origin.3, The characteristics of trace elements of parameter analysis and graphical results indicated the formation of the deposit is influenced by hydrothermal fluids strongly. The sources of ore forming material is not unique and the sedimentary environment for the anoxic reducing environment.4, The characteristics of rare earth elements parameters analysis and graphical results show that, Ce has obvious negative anomaly, deposit is formed in an ocean basin, and the water is not normal sedimentary, hydrothermal sedimentation effect.5, The deposit be control by time, strata-bound, the ancient geographical environment, lithology and lithofacies and tectonic effect.
