The research of occurrence the elements is one of important content in ore composition research, it combines significant theoretical and practical significance for the laws of element migration, mineral and deposit formation, the industry conditions and evaluation of the deposit, ore dressing and smelting process indicators and processes intended. Particularly The research of occurrence of rare earth elements is of more valuable. Because rare earth elements are often sensitive to the physical and chemical conditions of mineralization elements migrating during the process of geological, they can be the ideal indication of mineral formation, and the key answer to a series of earth deposits chemical problems. And also, because of the special position they occupied in industrial applications and the national economy, the occurrence of rare earth elements become indispensable in the ore deposit evaluation and utilization, even a decisive factor.China is the largest phosphate fertilizer producer in the world, and also the largest country of phosphogypsum byproduct. During the process in phosphate mining and phosphate fertilizer production, we often ignores the presence of rare earth elements in phosphate rock, resulting in a great waste of resources. Phosphorus is one of the advantages mineral of Sichuan Province. At present, there have been found more than 60 large and medium mineral deposits in Sichuan Province, the proven reserves of resources is 1.8 billion tons. Mineral potential assessment circled five predicted workspace with 4.83 billion tons resource potential of phosphate forecast, mainly in Mianzhu, Mabian, Leibo and other regions.This paper selects Leibo phosphate zone, Mabian phosphate zone, wangjiaping phosphate zone, macaotan phosphate zone and Longwangmiao phosphate zone these 5 district as the typical phosphate phosphate in western Sichuan province, by uesing ICP-MS, SEM with EDX and electron microprobe, this paper analysised the content of rare earth elements in phosphate rock of these five typical phosphate district in western Sichuan region. Compared with rare earth elements containing of Zhijin phosphate deposit in Guizhou province,it shows that the content of rare earth elements in leibo phosphate zone, Mabian phosphate zone, Wangjiaping phosphate zone and Macaotan phosphate zone are difficult to reach the quality of industrial grade,but the content of rare earth of phosphate rock from Longwangmiao phosphate zone is as much as twice of Zhijin phosphate deposit, and the occurrence of rare earth elements in this phosphate zone is in monazite as independent mineral.
