Photocatalytic technology is a newly arisen environment friendly technique, whose advatages are high efficiency, simple, mild operating condition, degradation organics pollution without selectivity and without second pollution. However, in practical application, photocatalytic materials have many limitations including low photo catalysis activity, low efficiency in using solar energy etc. In this paper, we prepare Ag nanoparticles/TiO2thin films with good photocatalysis activity and improve the photocatalysis activity with oxygen plasma.The Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) were prepared by vacuum vapor plating method. The modulation of nano-Ag thin films’surface plasma resonance (SPR) and the coupling between AgNPs and R6G are researched. The results have shown that the SPR of Ag NPs thin films can be tuned in the range of visible wavelengths by control the deposition time of Ag. Annealing could lead to Ag nanoparticles’SPR absorption peak blue shift. Strong coupling effect only appears when the absorption peaks of nano-Ag is close to R6G.The nano-Ag/TiO2thin films were well prepared by vacuum vapor plating method, the photocatalytic performance of nano-Ag/TiO2thin films with different content of Ag under UV and visible light is studied. The results have shown that within a certain thickness, Ag doping favor for the photocatalytic performance improvement of nano-Ag/TiO2thin films under both UV and visible light.Finally, we treat nano-Ag/TiO2thin films with oxygen plasma and study the improvement of photocatalytic performance under the illumination of UV and visible light. The results have shown that oxygen plasma can improve the photocatalytic performance of nano-Ag/TiO2thin films significantly under the illumination of UV and visible light. Oxidation of AgNPs into AgO and Ag2O,which could be activated by UV and visible light are the main mechanism.
