The petroleum prospecting of Jiyuan area in Erdos basin has been playing anincreasingly important role for CNPC. But, the problem of prospecting has arousedpeople’s concern with the sophisticated surface condition for the changesdramatically of the lithological characters in surface layer. In original seismicdata, surface wave interference often conceals the effective signal and reducesthe S/N ratio of data, Multiples are severe disturbance waves in seismicprospecting. But, the success is no more than the failure for petroleum prospectingin this area.Recently, the problem of the petroleum prospecting has aroused people’sconcern and has been figured out with a new method of non-wertical acquisitionsystem This paper carries out the petroleum prospecting in Jiyuan area.Firstly,a great deal of work was done in areas where the geophysical and geology conditionson surface and at depth are so varied fo rthe data processing with noise analysisand stacking and imaging. Secondly, the S/N ratio of data has been increased withmultipal modules method of noise suppresment and preserved amplitu deprocessing.lastly, a great deal of work was done in areas lateral reservoirprediction especially. The main exploration target is predicting reservoirs, looking for and evaluateing identifying channel sand bodies that is favorable toforming oil-gas pool. This paper also carries out Jurassic reservoirs in Jiyuan area have low successratio of exploration wells and complicated reservoir conditions, lack large areareservoirs, and require advanced techniques of exploration and development. Basedon analysis of new well drilling and geophysical data, this paper gives a detaildescription of palaeogeomorphology and tectonic relief of marker bed, and presentssedimentary facies and sand distribution pattern of Yan’an formation. Optimumtargets prediction through combining structure and lithology for the increasmentof oil reserves for Changqing Oil company.
