Today, the synchronization of complex networks becomes the main content of network research for its wide research field and practical characteristics. methods of networks synchronization are varied. The sliding mode control method for the advantages of fast response and maintaining system stability, has been widely used in the research of the single system synchronization issues. However, the study on using the sliding mode control to achieve the synchronization of complex networks is relatively less. So the study on synchronization of network by using the sliding mode control is very meaningful.The first part and second part respectively introduces the knowledge of the complex network and sliding mode control. The part of the network knowledge mainly starts from the definition of the network, the basic features of the network, network modeling and the theory of network synchronization and so on. In the part of the sliding mode control, it mainly includes the following parts: the introduction of sliding mode control, the basic principle of sliding mode control, and the application of sliding mode control method.In the third part of this paper,it is based on sliding mode control method to research the tracking synchronization of the discrete time and space network. Select the finite difference form of the space promotion of two-dimensional system as the network node equation, select the small world network model as the network connection method, then discrete time and space network equation is constructed. Through the appropriate selection of sliding surface and sliding mode controller, finally the tracking synchronization for any given external signal is achieved. Further the feasibility of the control process through the instance simulation is verified.In the fourth part of this article,it introduces the tracking synchronization of uncertain continuous network,which is based on sliding mode control. Select the Genesio system as the network node equation,and select the ring network model as the network connection way, so the continuous network is constructed. And under the effect of the parameter identification and the sliding surface and sliding mode controller,it realizes the tracking synchronization between continuous network with the external signal. At the same time, through the experimental simulation method, the expected experiment effect is achieved.
