Airy beams have attracted a great deal of interest due to its self-accelerating, non-diffractive, self-healing properties, it has many potential applications in a few of fields, such as in optical micro-manipulation,vacuum electron acceleration, and routing surface plasmon polaritons, etc. Circular Airy Beam (CAB) has the property of auto-focusing during its propagation, which is an ideal optical source in optical tweezers’ application, CAB can also be used to enhance the gradient force or trap particles at different positions. In the past few years, tremendous research work has been devoted to the study of Airy beams, from theoretical predictions to experimental observations, from linear control to nonlinear self-trapping, and from fundamental aspects to demonstrations of proposed applications. In the first chapter, we introduce the research background, significance, and potential application of Airy Beams. In the second ch apter, we introduce the fundamental theory of Airy beam, in detail account for the reason why Airy beam has such properties. Then in the third chapter, we explain the basic theory of radially symmetrical auto-focusing beams, which is the base of chapter five; In the fourth chapter, we focus on the experimental system to acquire 2D Airy beam, besides,we verify the properties of self-accelerating,non-diffractive, self-healing of 2D Airy beam. In addition, in the fifth chapter, we do some theoretical research on Circular Airy Beam. Annular aperture is proposed to cover the optical lobe of CAB. With the help of Matlab software, we can compute and simulate the property of optical lobe covered CAB, besides, we can study the influence on optical lobe covered CAB, arised by the decay factor or the initial radius. Finally, it is the summarization and prospect for them, we propose to verify the conclusion drawn in chapter five.
